We’re rolling steadily through 2022, and if you haven’t considered the marketing campaigns you’d like to implement this summer, we highly recommend that you start your strategy this week.  The best laid plans often involve weeks of research and insights into industry opportunities.

Here are the following few areas which we believe could provide a strong starting point for the remainder of your business’s 2022 marketing.

A/B Testing Of Website Content

First off, we tend to think of A/B testing as a technique for PPC ads, but it can also be utilized for SEO-priority website pages to optimize organic search traffic.  Testing a blog post with two different skews towards targeted keyword can offer significant insight into how responsive Google is with certain search terms.

Podcasting

Secondly, podcasts! Especially as more people return to in-office work, they want serialized audio entertainment for their commute.  This trend is tracking even higher in listeners, a 25% increase from 2020 to 2021. Did you know that Pearl Marketing is developing a podcast? Stay tuned for the beginning of What Makes You Click, the podcast all about marketing!

Video Marketing

Thirdly, with the burgeoning popularity of Tiktok and Instagram Reels, video continues to be a major contender in digital marketing.  Finding your “infotainment” niche with a 30-45 second video is a strong marketing strategy that is well worth its time and costs in development and production.  While a smartphone camera is more than enough for short videos, we highly recommend that you work with a skilled videographer for longer segments like commercials or testimonials.

Shoppable Links

Concurrently, ease of access is key to earning more sales online.  With features like PayPal and Apple Pay, people can purchase products and services even without reaching for their wallet.  Make sure that your website and social media is optimized for spontaneous buying with ecommerce.  Tip: If using Instagram, make sure your brand’s account is set to Business Profile!

Human Connections through Experience

Additionally, connecting with your audience is easier when you take that extra step towards them.  When utilizing video, always caption the sounds and dialogue.  Have a web developer take a close look at your website to check its accommodations for visually impaired visitors.

Content Usability in the Conversion Process

While it may seem like a surprise, less is more in some aspects of marketing.  Keep most, if not all, of your material targeted towards new leads or nurturing existing leads.   Audit your campaigns regularly to check for efficiency. In doing so, you will spend less time working on aimless ventures and garner a higher ROI.

Leaning into User-Generated Content

This tip may seem daunting, but remember that reviews and testimonials count as user-generated content!  Your potential customers want to know the thoughts that previous buyers have about your brand, and whether they would purchase again.  Create social media posts with credited reviews and have a web developer set up a page on your website for client testimonials!

Social Media Platforms

Again, the social media is key.  Don’t be afraid to take your time, start small, and grow into a learning curve with your content. Finally,  if social media marketing still feels like a hurdle, consider outsourcing to a marketing agency or young professional.
